V1 #339 Build Log

Desert Sasqwatch
F1 wing, looks very nice. Enough tire clearance at full lock? Looks like it might be tight.

How is your front suspension geometry, linear? Asking because your alignment - camber, roll center, etc. - will change with the increased downforce weight of an efficient wing. Double check this to be certain there will be no surprises with squirrely handling at higher speeds. This front downforce also needs to be balanced with a compatible amount of rear downforce. Getting it right will be like balancing on the head of a pin - but hopefully you will get there. :D

Well, the 6 month prototype lasted 6 minutes... back to the drawing board haha.

Tire clearance is tight but it did clear. Both this and the rear wing are adjustable, and I plan on just running a front wing at autocross type events so lower to mod speed environments <65mph. Alignment is something to consider but difficult to tune on the road.

Sorry to see all of your hard work in pieces.

Just have variable sized weights to push on the front end while checking the alignment - suggestion: kid - 50lbs, supermodel -100lbs, jockey - 150lbs, normal American male - 200lbs, sasquatch -250lbs (ok, a small squatch). It would take some time to accomplish but would probably be worth doing if you plan to have significant downforce on the front end. :D

I'll look into it, although I admit I absolutely loathe doing alignments haha. Sucks that it's so important.

Once I get prototype 2.0 built I have a buddy that races in the Indy Nxt series that's gonna help me tune the balance/springs/alignment

On the plus side, my new heated seats work great! Now to clean up the install
