Another auction diamond

I've been looking at this one. Unfortunately delivery fees to Pennsylvania are.... upsetting. Interestingly, this one is listed as a Supercharged but is clearly has a tubby.
General auction question... is there somewhere they list the reserve price or is there never one with IAAI?

I believe reserve prices are kept secret, due to the nature of what it is (minimum price the seller is willing to consider). I'm sure someone will correct me if I am wrong.

I figured that would be the case. I mean, if I was selling, I would keep it hidden I guess. It would be cool if they would say "no reserve" somewhere if there wasn't one.

That's a ZZP aftermarket turbo kit. 2007 SS is the supercharged LSJ. The turbocharged LNF came out in 08. This is a really nice donor. Anyone have a clue what's going on with all those yellow ground wires?
Ahh good to know. Forgive me, I'm new to this platform but learning. Anyone know how to get a semi accurate quote for shipping without paying the $200 annual fee? I'd use a 3rd party shipper but feel they might be more expensive?

I don't know if you'll be able to bid on this car without going through a broker. That's what I did when I bought my donor from Copart in NC. Not sure how IAA works but salvage auctions are closed to the public in many states. If your experience is anything like mine, you'll have to use the broker's preferred shipping company. Beware that this can get quite expensive. I had my donor shipped to my brother's house that was only a couple hundred miles from the Copart lot. I think it was something like $1200.

I have a guest login now so i can browse and save listings etc... From what the FAQs suggest, you pay $200 for the ability to bid and access the Buy Now functionality so i might not need a broker. If i can cut out the middle man that would be cool because IAAI seem to list waaaaaay more details than Copart. It seems like an EBay setup in that respect but I'm speculating.

I doubt Texas needs a broker, but there's plenty of Texas people here that could tell you.

The bigger issue is, you're looking to ship a TX car all the way to PA, if I'm reading right. You're gonna spend some bux for that.

Yeah, that's my worry regarding this particular car. However, the question in general is whether you can purchase on IAAI without a broker and as an individual. I mean, their FAQ suggested so with the $200 gee but I'd love to hear if anyone else has actually done it and how was the process?

Texas allows bidding on most vehicles (at least they did in 2019) without a broker. My donor total cost to ship was $950 from El Paso to Phoenix, delivered to my driveway. Total fees and taxes were around $350, auction winning bid was $750 for a total of $2050 - 2008 SS/TC.

BTW, getting a Texas car means far fewer metal mites have been chewing on the parts you will need from the donor. That is a cost savings over getting a donor from the rust belt which will require lots of parts replacements.
