I just won an auction for a 2006 SS with fewer than 30,000 miles! Had to come post... My build log will be started as soon as all the paperwork is done.
Yes... G85, not 35. I edited the first comment...
My understanding is the G85 RPO for the SS/SC includes the Recaros so if you have the seats then you have the LSD.
You're going to want to make sure you've got the updated timing chain tensioner installed, as well as the Dorman guide bolt. With such low mileage I'm sure everything is fine, but the old style tensioner is still prone to failure so it is worth the small cost in time and money.
This is true. The G85 package included the Recaros. But I have seen an SS with the Recaros that did not have the G85 package. That could be because someone added them, and frankly probably is, but until I see the badge, I'm not going to get too excited. (Who am I kidding! I'm freaking ecstatic!!!!)
If you have the VIN, there is a website you can look it up and find out if it has the limited slip and every other added option now, rather than waiting until you get the car.
I tried, but the auction had an invalid VIN listed. However, I just went back to check again, and while the VIN on the site is wrong, I found out that because I won the auction, I have access to an Autocheck Report, which had the correct VIN.
I now know it most definitely has the G85 package!!! WOOT WOOT!!!

It’s a maintenance item that no one really does unless you are on sites like this one that tells you too. Most will fail, then get replaced, not the other way areomdHow can I tell whether what is there is the updated tensioner or the "old" tensioner?
How would I know if the Timing Guide bolt needs to be replaced?
