V1 Fenix's Goblin #461 - 2010 Base Auto

Markm
Hopefully you’ll be back up and running soon:). Those parts would’ve ended up in the scrap bin so I’m glad someone was able to use them. Don’t forget about the rockauto discount code if you decided to get a tie rod from them which is good until June 6.

Taken off the muffler to put on the new tie rod rack and found this concerning bend here

I don't see any cracks or bends larger than the thickness of this plate. On farther inspection I see bends on the left side passenger side, but you have to really eyeball it to notice.bend inwards by 1/8th inch

Shouldn't complain though. Almost died afterall. Fact that this is most likely going to be on the road again soon is very lucky. Appreciate yalls help too.

Found more damage, both seat mounts are bent, passenger seat is not useable. Front knuckles are bent where the tie rod ears are.

edit: front is fine i think, need to do an alignment and bleed the brakes and see from there. i took it out this early morning and stayed under 35 mph and it seemed like it didnt want to kill me again. testing the brakes and accel there is a pull from the rear to one side, hopefully its just an alignment and brake bleeding related thing.

finally got the hood painted and now im messing with the front hood mount thats supposed to be riveted in from the looks of it. no matter what though the holes on the hood are too far forward to line up with the bracket and im not sure how to proceed from here, any help? i know from the looks of it and the gap that a hinge would fit nicely but before proceeding id like thoughts / help from you guys.

my thoughts:
1. the other thought i have is to rivet as is and then drill out the fiberglass to allow the two quick connect bolts to fit
2. drill new holes for the rivets
3. find a hinge that fits the naturally occurring gap between the hood and bracket
4. something is missing or incorrect

I had to trim my bumper a bit to allow the bracket to fit properly. I think it was in the lower mouth area that mine contacted.

Just got into an accident. On the highway I hit this:

It's a hitch about 20 pounds and almost the size of a bowling ball. Here is the damage:

The cross member up front is destroyed. The bolts gouged and split open almost the entirety of the driver side floor pans. It almost took my leg off. The oil pan is bent upwards but not leaking. I called my insurance. I don't know what to do. Would DF be able to help? I don't know if it's safe to drive with the front damaged like that. I made it home but the front was not happy sounding. An adjuster is supposed to call me in 3 business days.

DF can sell you new parts.
Ouch that was a solid item to hit. Glad you are okay, sorry about your goblin.

From what I can tell, it looks like the front firewall panel and floor panels appear to be the only for sure need to be replaced. They appear to be riveted so really just a matter of drilling all of those out.

Far as the square tube up front, DF can supply you that piece, I know this... However, welding a new one in would require pulling your hoses back out which I image would not be a ton of fun. I have AN lines ran thru my frame so can't provide much input on the default hoses.

But if you end up welding the new tube in I may be able to give some tips on getting that done. Otherwise, that kink in the tube may not be particularly problematic assuming it hasn't pulled the coolant line tubes inward.

The trans pan isn’t bad enough to call for a new pan. Pull the pan and straighten it out and put in a new filter in case it got cracked. Call DF on those sheet metal panels.

I sent an email to DF asking about it and received a call from my insurance. An adjuster will come out and get a rough estimate cost. They said I can do the repairs myself if I want to and that I can pick any shop.
