V1 Mikes Extended, Full Frame Goblin - 2009 Cobalt LS with 135k donor

That's what I did. I guess Toyota principle, wait with a problem as long as possible and hope to find out more over time :D

Removed the driver side door plug so far. Friday night I will work on the airbag plug.

Questions:
What is with all the ground wires? E.G. the big black ground wire from the driver door. The video says to remove all wires, but in the video it looks like he is leaving the black wire uncut.
You will probably repurpose it later as a ground for some other circuit/s.

I’d recommend watching all the wiring videos through a couple times and then jump back into the thinning/splicing. It helps a lot to watch it all unfold first.

Be sure the battery is disconnected before messing with the airbags. Doing a connector wrong and they go BOOM!!!

Made good progress today! I am almost done with the main harness thinning.

Question: Will the coolant level switch which is connected to BCM C1 Pin 26 ( Circuit No. 1478 ) not used anymore?

M
@Robinjo Yes, I guess so. I have on the LSJ Harness which I am building right now this cabel cut at the end with no plug. I did not know what it was. I traced it back to the BCM C1 Plug and found out it is for the coolant level. Seems like this is only for the LSJ engine.

I checked my coolant reservoir installed with the LAP engine and it does not have a sensor. I guess I guess I have to either get a new reservoir with sensor or put that wire permanently on whatever signal the BCM requires to not throw out an error.

I used the Picture @Ross provided me in this posting and added some labels for the connectors. I have some wires in my harness which lead to the Body-Engine Connector on the very right side of the picture above the FBU C5 connector. I have trouble finding this connector in the diagram. Can someone help me and let me know what the Name/Number of this connector is? I have trouble identifying the 2 cables in my harness. Should be something with the trunk I guess.

Alright, I need some help.

1. I looked through the diagrams, but I can not find the connector layout for the large connectors which go to the fuse box in the diagram. I would love to see the pinout and the labeling of the pins, as they mention the pins in the video quite often.

2. I am removing the break control connector. Minute 1:40 of this video
.
Which one of this is the tan and brown wire? and I don't think I have the vacuum connector he is talking about. The second from the left blue cable goes to the fuse box. All other cables doesn't look like they would go to the vacuum sensor. View attachment 43530

1. Is partly solved. I labeled almost all plugs. Since I bought the harness, I think for others who strip the donor themself, LABEL it!! It makes it a lot easier. Still looking for the Engine to Harness connector. I believe this is C101 but I am not sure.

2. Is solved. Found the right pair after I removed all the other pairs. (I hope at least :D )

Status update:
I found the coolant level switch in my harness, despite my earlier post, it is not cut and on a plug.

I need help with identifying the red boxes in the picture below.
The yellow and black go to this unkown plug. A detailed pictures is in this post http://dfkitcar.com/forum/index.php...009-cobalt-ls-with-135k-donor.4634/post-95148

The 2 unkown plugs belong to the door, but there are only 4 wires in this plugs. The wiring diagram shows 8 for each plug.

Latest update. I was able to identify the other cables and connectors. I have 3 wires, I am not 100% sure if they are used or not. Will just continue with them in the harness. If they are later on not used I put shrink wrap over the end an call it a day.

Supercharged (LSJ) Goblin owners, can someone please post some pictures of the Fusebox installed with the plugs and harness? I think the videos are mostly for the NA engines. My ECU has the plug pointing in a different direction and I am wondering how that all works out later on.

Based on what I think you are asking, my LSJ is taped up the same way and looked the same as the video. The connectors only install in the bottom of the fuse box one way.

I will take a picture tomorrow and post it. Currently working on the dash harness. It‘s getting really to a point where I think I can‘t figure it out. I wish they there would be either a plan what all is needed or clearer instructions in the video, Like take out the brown wire from C203 to C201. Or Keep the purple wire on C4 Pin18 for later use at the …

The amount of knots and colors makeing it really confusing. I am pretty much looking up every wire in the Diagram, after finding the right plug,… to be sure not cutting the wrong, wire, connector,…

In the main harness video they showed much better the different connectors to get them identified.

I am so much more into driving then building… I took the fusebox housing out of my current Goblin to get it exactly done as in the video… breaks my heart seeing the car sitting around and not been driven.

Oh well, I hope it all pays off. Good night…

I officially regret going down the path of an engine swap. I spend already around 30h building the harness. That's 29.5h more as I wanted.

Alright, enough complaining... :)
Which fuse box holder do you need? I think I have a late with me in the RV.( I think I picked it up in Billings because it was already off and cheap!) Early ECM holder slot is narrower. Probably about $40 to ship.

Every time the video said tie a knot, I labeled that wire after tying the knot and even referenced the video number and timestamp where it was tied. It helped me a ton as there were a few knotted wires.
