V1 Ross's extended city, easy entry Goblin- 06 SS/SC, NW Arkansas

I really like the roof wing look. Still haven't installed the one I have because I didn't like the vertical look of the DF mounts. Do you have a good side shot of it?

Like this? Started mocking this up in January, haven't created it in fiberglass yet. Will be a quick bolt-on (4 bolts) to swap with the wing I've also mocked up. Easy-peasy!

And it meets SCCA rules too.

Here is a couple of track pics with Randy Pobst driving. That Ford Bronco has a better wing than me.... it did make me laugh. Mine is a spoiler, as wings aren't SCCA approved in EM class.

I fixed these a while ago, but am adding the $8 intercooler pump fix, and the fix to the radiator fan, to my build log.

I finally figured out how the fans work on my 2006 Cobalt SS. I was able to reduce the temperature that the fan turns on at, which was pretty high (223F on, 217F off) on the factory chevy settings. This is HP Tuners, VCM Editor software:

Fan 1 is my engine coolant fan, (purple lines), it switches on (1) when the engine temp is higher than ~205F (which is "Fan Desired" = 22).
Fan 1 switches off (0) when the engine temp is lower than ~199F (which is "Fan Desired" = 12).

The blue lines are for reading the AC system vapor pressure sensor, and then turning on/off Fan 2 according to the tables above.
Or in a Goblin, since we don't use the AC system, you could put a different 5V sensor instead of the AC system vapor pressure sensor. Maybe a 5V oil pressure sensor. Then the PCM would read the new oil pressure sensor, and report on it on the AC pressure PID. I'm not sure what PID that is, but I know HP Tuners can see and report on it. Wikipedia doesn't list the AC Pressure sensor... unless it is one of the Evap system pressures:
Maybe the Evap vapor pressure sensor could be repurposed too?

Thanks Ross, I created quickly an Excel file which can calculate the settings according to the set temperature.

The strut/coil over issue:
I managed to break the shaft at top of my shock, just before the threads.
Lonny welded it back together, so I could flat tow my DF Goblin.
You can see the weld heat zone on the chrome shaft here. It got me home!

I contacted [email protected], as I couldn't find this Q-01 Front Right shock on their website.

Reply from BC Racing:
When and where did you order this from? I would need to find your order to ensure you get a direct replacement as this is not something we offer and is pieced together by a 3rd party.

They found it, after looking for DF Kit Car.

Judging by how many employees were checking out the goblin, I think they don't get too many goblins at the scrap yard or lumber yard.
Stopping by the scales at the metal recycling center to drop off some Cobalt doors, hoods, brake rotors, etc. $36 worth of scrap!

Next stop, the lumber yard for some 14' 2x4s and 2x6s. The scrap yard wouldn't take the Cobalt gas tank, or the old microwave.
