Hello all
I am starting on this journey to build a goblin. Been reading through tons of post on the forum and watching all the Youtube videos for about a year. I finally convinced my wife to let me build one. I had to sell my other project but that was ok as I learned that it needed things I wasn't qualified to do (welding).
I found a donor that I feel will suit me. 2008 Cobalt Sport. 2.4 N/A Auto. While a manual might have been nice wifey and I went auto because of certain physical issues. I drove the donor home (3.5 hour) with no issues. Pulled codes and nothing came up and it had no check engine light. A/C worked good so it was a shame to have it drained
. Got started on the tear down. Powertrain is out and engine is on the stand ready for a rebuild. (210K miles). I will probably send trans in, I could do it but would prefer someone with more experience do it.
I will be placing my order in a few months (waiting for bonus $$) but the rebuild should keep me busy and then there is the wiring (bit of anxiety). Going to need lots of help, someone has messed with the fuse box a bit and damaged the power steering plug.
