V1 Starting the journey

Yes you will. Well, it makes the title process for the goblin a lot easier. Without it, you’ll have to prove nothing is stolen.

Make sure you make color copies of front and back incase you have to show you were in the chain of ownership. I think @Rttoys had to surrender his actual title whereas I either showed or submitted my copy of the title for my title application.

I posted mine on The Facebook Marketplace as a shell with no title. Then cut the VIN's off the frame. No one had an issue with that but I'm also in Alabama.

Yep. Most of us surrender the title to prove nothing is stolen. Some have had to do an inspection via DPS to run engine numbers and such to prove nothing is stolen.

OR breakout the Sawzall and cut the carcass up into 3-4 big pieces - it's no longer a car after that and the title would not need to be surrendered, at least in some jurisdictions.
this is what I did. Cut it up and send it to the scrap yard piece by piece.

Whole= no good. In pieces= fine. Strange how all that works.

No emissions test here.
Called the scraper off and started cutting. I’ve got metal dumpsters at work and big roll offs. Guess that’s the new plan.

Well holidays are passed and work is starting to settle out after our little cold spell here 2 weeks ago. It’s time to get back to playing with my toys. Engine is torn down and waiting on the machine shop. Going to be several weeks ( oil field work pays better so it’s hard to get small jobs done). So let’s start on the wiring? I’ve got crap service in my shop so I watch videos and run out there and do what I remember.

Watch all the wiring videos through a couple times before starting.

Don't be afraid to ask questions. I asked a lot of stupid ones during my harness build.

Solder and heat shrink the wires and do not use the heat shrink solder in one connectors unless you want to pull the harness later to fix them all.

Don't get ahead of yourself. Frequently in the videos, Lonny will not address a certain wire that your brain tells you he should. He'll circle around back and address it later. Don't assume anything, just do what the videos say to do; everything will come together in the end.

I have an automatic so any tips for that? Brake plug didn’t have brown and tan twisted wire to ECM plug but had green and yellow, hope it’s just a difference in model. I also had some damaged wires I’ll have to repair so went a bit slow today.

Those are probably ABS related and will get stripped out. Unless someone used a weird color to do a replacement at some point....

Robinjo, Sluggonaught and Ark :D, Dang Bubba!, You've got some of the best Guides a Goblin builder could wish for there! They've pulled more than their share of rabbits from hats around here! Don't be afraid to ask questions!
Labels! Take pix of stuff for reference. Be patient, carefully assess your problem, be ready to learn new stuff. You'll likely be learning and using new tech terms and sometimes you may have to describe a problem or situation in more than one way, but patience is key!
OH!, and good, clean grounds! LOL! As cars get more computerized, poor ground circuits are showing trouble more and more often. (Resistance confuses computers.)

Where are these damaged wires?, you would do well to have before and after pix of those. Some times "twisted pairs" get straightened out near connectors! and tan fades to white/yellow, especially where exposed to under hood heat.
