When doing my front suspension I found out you can mount the coil overs upside down. So I mounted mine with the adjuster knob at the top facing out. Way easier to adjust on track days
Bonus: the majority of the weight on the shock is in the body. Flipping them upside down makes the shock body sprung weight, since it is attached to the frame, rather than unsprung weight attached to the LCA. :D

Is there a significant benefit to having them mounted “upside down”? This is very interesting to me

Less unsprung weight allows the suspension to follow the road contours more effectively. Sprung weight is the desired characteristic for a vehicle and flipping the shocks upside down puts most of the shock weight (the shock body, its internal mechanism, and 1/2 the weight of the spring) onto the frame 'ear' moving it off the LCA. This is the reason why some very high performance cars have a pushrod attaching the shocks/springs to the suspension control arms with the entire shock mounted inboard - it is all sprung weight.

Well I’m not sure if you could consider it a first start since I ran the engine with the harness on the table but it’s a first start in the chassis. I probably could’ve started it a couple days ago but I wanted to get more of it finished before the wife gets home. I pretty much finished up the tubular subframe and tidied up the wiring. I still need to add coolant but it does start and run and now I guess I’ll get onto lighting since I’m missing a few pieces of hardware for the shifter and am waiting on solstice calipers

I mocked up for pictures for the courthouse. What a bunch of clowns they are. Anyway though the wife is super happy. Veronica got to start it when she got home on Monday and you could not have smacked the smile off her face. Anyway though these will be the temporary wheels for now and I have the tires so they’ll be put in soon and I’ll work on the alignment.

Before I put these pex pipes in my tunnel for future use are y’all’s heat exchanger coolant pipes pretty good as far as durability and leaks? If not I may just run 5/8 heater hose

Haven’t had a problem in 4 years here.

the intercooler is a very low pressure system so basically just coolant running to and from.

Year two on the road w/ no issues. Just had the tunnel cover off last weekend to install a cupholder and they looked good.

Cutting it close but will go for a drive tomorrow since the rain is finally moving out. I moved the accelerator pedal up an inch and is much easier to reach, my wife said it was ok as was but I’m certain she’ll be much happier. Not a lot left other than cosmetics and a button panel.

Getting started on the alignment. What would y’all suggest for a good starting point on alignment specs? I’ve read through many posts and they’re all over the place. This will be probably just street driven so I was going to start with 0 camber and 0 toe on the rear and probably-.1 camber 7 degree caster on the front with a little tow in. What do y’all suggest?

This is what I ended up with;
49320

The only thing different than the DF recommendations was less camber based off others posts for mostly street driving.

I have not been able to really drive it but for others to have luck with it made me shoot for these numbers.

Awesome. Thanks, I shouldn’t have a problem getting these numbers
