That cable should be connected to the handle directly. You don't need the longer cables that connect to the actual brakes as DF supplies new cables.

Do they indeed supply the cables? I don't see them in any of my kit contents and on the DF store, the DF parking brake kit description says "You will also need to source SS parking brake cables from an auto parts store."

They are available, new, through Rock Auto if needed. I've purchased quite a few new parts from the build from them and happy every time.

You need your own cables, they are not supplied by DF.
RockAuto has them.
