V1 David's Track ,street goblin - in NJ

David
Ok so I finally got all the coding completed and I designed a box for all the boards and battery. I even got the tablet to show the battery %. Even though with a 3K mAh battery you dont need it as it should last at least 18hrs. Now have to do the other 3.

Also made 4 platforms with adjustable legs to level the goblin and also use the scale and turn tables.

Ok so have a little situation which im not sure what it could be. Its happened twice already, the brake pedal seems to stick. Today I took it out maybe around 10 min in. I noticed I wasn't moving, thought it was engine related but then started to smell brake pads. I pulled over and put it in neutral and car didn't roll.

Pumped the brakes multiple times and still nothing. I then pulled up on the brake which there wasn't to much play, but it started to roll. What can it be, master sticking, brake pedal needing a return spring? Can the wilwood proportioning valve create that issue?

Didn't have time today to pull nothing apart. Im assuming I should start with checking the master cylinder.

Definitely want to upgrade to a Wilwood or Tilton pedal box. Just not sure how to make the switches and throttle work. Its on my winter list.

We had this happen also. Check the brake switch. It's keeping the brake pedal from releasing all the way. Adjust the switch farther away from the actuator or bend the actuator.

Will take a look at that.

*Edit. Took a look and I took the switches off and the pedal stopped at the same position as when the switches are on.

Which means what?

Ive always had a sticky pedal, one where ive had to pull up the last 5% to get the car to roll and just recently I came to a complete stop in front of my house, but I could determine what corner it was, so i ordered a caliper. Im hoping its that.

Can you determine what side, corner smells hot?

One item to look at is the brake booster rod attachment to the brake lever. Assembling this incorrectly has been known to to created binding with the brake lever arm not returning fully. The order to install onto the nub on the brake lever is the booster rod first, the foam 'spacer', then the attachment clip. Reversing the rod and foam is the potential problem.

Seems like its the front maybe just the Front Right but hard to tell when it happens.

How do I know what size calipers I have? I believe I have the front DF calipers with the solstice rear caliper. Anyone know the size of them are the base model size?

David
I believe I found what calipers I have if its the Stock DF ones. Anyone correct me if im wrong.

- Front 2007-2010 Cobalt base model has single 54mm piston

- Rear 2006-2009 Solstice/Sky snice I have the parking brake option single 40mm piston.

Have this for future reference snice Im going to try and contact Tilton and see what MC do they recommend for my setup. I plugged in weight specs and front and rear bias in Gemini. Its telling me to go with ¾" Front and ⅝ rear bore.
