V1 Ghostknife's #383 Track SS/SC

Ghostknife
Welp the labels came in today which is cool. The drivetrain is ready to drop but I'm going to hold off until next week when we get a warm up. My plan is to pull the engine and trans out of the car and then use my truck to pull the donor car out of the garage into a party tent. I will be able to work on pulling the rest of the bits from inside while having room to work on the engine in the garage. I found it weird that a Option B kit was installed but no the dual pass. My dual pass should be arriving today from ZZP. This is how its currently routed. .

The trans lines are the only thing left to unhook, do they just pop off ?

The cable ends popped off, imagine that. Short of dropping the motor (waiting on engine lift) I started pulling the interior apart. I have the full interior out and almost ready to pull the dash. I have all the wiring popped off the clips and seatbelts removed ect. Ready for more fun tomorrow!

Lift the car off the drivetrain instead of “pulling” the engine. Some floor jacks will do it. Hell, cut the front off the cobalt. It’s not needed.

Well I ended up lifting the car by the front bumper support/ crash bar. It was kind of sketchy but not terrible. I ended up dropping the car down onto the dolly, pulled the engine bolts and then lifted the car back up. Tomorrow we are supposed to have a warm-up and will be putting up party tent and will be pulling the car into the tent from the garage.

Made it through video 6 today including setting up a shelter outside to move the donor out of the garage. I will be starting on video 7 tomorrow. The stupid 10x20 shelter that I bought is missing one of the sides to is so I was in a bit of a rush to get the electrical out before the weather moves in. Moving the donor out was about as easy as it could be with the truck lol.

Yep that’s a fact, luckily I have the dash and the motor in the garage. I won’t be able to get the tank dropped and fuel pump wiring out before the storm hits. I do have the rest of the wiring inside as well so I’ll be able to keep progress going in the mean time.

I usually hate doing wiring but about halfway through I started enjoying it. I set up an old TV I had with chromecast out in the garage so I wouldn't being staring at my phone for all the videos. I think by the end I was having dreams narrated by the voice in the videos.

My plan is to possibly set up in the basement with plywood on the pool table. Better climate control and there’s a tv in there to do what you’re talking about.

Post Snowmageddon, the canopy did relatively well being open on one side, no snow in the car and a slight dusting inside. It’s nice to have space to work in the garage to work. Put up a spare garage light above the pool table to act as a operating room for the harness work that will take place next week.

So how much did you love all the stickiness

Wearing gloves helped but they were all slimed up, Monday ill be degreasing the wires. I'm on nights next Tuesday-Thursday and off Monday and Friday so I am hoping to be finished with the wiring harness by next week and able to have everything off the donor.
