I guess this isn't the car for me.

If you lose a brain cell per build thread post Ark :D may now be best suited for the passenger seat of his Goblin.

Don't give up Prop Job you will find a donor, it may take a few months but they are out there. We have lots of Cobalt owners driving all over the US every day risking bodily harm to create potential donors.
This is on the way to DF last monday!

I just watched FB market place, I didn't think I would find one either... Eventually did, Just looked and there are almost a dozen SS's on there in my area.

Too bad this isn't a ss turbo. I am still considering seeing what he would take and pick it up for a daily driver or possibly tow rig to flat tow the goblin places :p

Glad you haven’t given upon the Goblin. I had a frustrating time finding ANY donor. I messaged at least 4 and when I asked when I could look at them in person, it was ‘I’m thinking about trading’ or ‘I don’t have another car so can’t sell till...’ or some other excuse. Keep looking and you’ll find the right donor at the right price.

And I have to ask about the name...another pilot?

Thanks for the donors there guys. I'm not on Facebook but I guess I need to get on there and setup enough to look at the marketplace. I don't have any reservations shipping from one of the auction sites but I'd be a bit more hesitant doing a sight unseen deal with some crook on FB marketplace. Prob would have to limit my search radius to within 8 hrs or so of Central Arkansas.

Yea, I fly the C-130's for the Guard here in AR. I like your avatar pic!

Facebook marketplace seems to be where everything is at these days...I got my donor from there.

Nice to see a fellow herk guy on here. My first assignment was on Es and H3s with the 61st there at LR. Then had a couple super Es until they were retired in 12. I really miss flying the four fans of freedom.

Awesome Jared! Yea I've been on the E's, H1's, 2's, and 3's. We currently have H2's. I'm 37 and what we call a dual status guardsman. Full time GS employee and part time guardsman, wearing the same uniform doing the same job regardless of which employment status I am that day. I'll prob stick with this gig until they tell me I've gotta go, hopefully get another 20 years out of it. Beats the heck out of working for a living!

I'll get busy looking on FB Marketplace. Thanks for all the info everybody.

Cool. Yeah, I'm just a couple years from retirement, sensor\CSO on the C-208 with the 6th SOS at hurlburt\duke field; been here on and off since leaving little rock. But it doesn't compare to the herk.

Hope you find the right donor. I have loved every bit of the build process and working with Lonnie and Adam. A group is getting together up at lake of the Ozarks in a week I think... You should check it out.

I don't do anything on Facebook, but joined to follow the Cobalt groups. I searched for months and then suddenly had a choice of two SS-TC cars. One was crashed but running and the other had a connecting rod poking through the engine block. I paid $1800 for the blown engine car, $200 in gas to get it home and $2,000 for a crate engine from ATK. I know that hopeless feeling when nothing is available because I was feeling it. Then suddenly, two cars were available. Hang in there and be patient, something will surface.

Look everywhere. I scored a partially parted out SC for $300 from OfferUp. Parts cars and donors are all over fb. Finding the donor is the hardest part.

I’m a guard pilot as well. Left tech for AGR 5 years ago; 5 years left.

I can't figure out the status of this car but it might make a decent donor... 2009 SS/TC in Noel, MO for $1800 (part out? not sure)
Not sure what your comfort level is with motor work but this car isn't worth the asking price, even if it truly only "needs head gasket" 2007 SS/SC in Memphis, TN for $2,800

I hear you, I was off Facebook for years before I returned just to get on Marketplace. I hate their search function, but it seems to be where all the cars are at...

I've been talking to the owner of the 2009 SS/TC in Noel a bit on FB. He's parting it out and has already sold a bunch of the parts but the engine and trans is still there. He doesn't have a title for it that's in his name yet (which is why that car isn't setting in my shop right now).
