Hi All,
My name is Jon and I lovvvveeee driving. I'm possibly a drive-aholic. Since I was in high school doing late night solo drives, to flying from RI to Cali just to drive angel crest highway, driving is a passion. I am now looking to buy and drive a goblin!

The reviews of the driving experience have me hooked! I do not have a garage and don't really want to build one with the very little spare time I have. This may be taboo, as I see how many dedicated builders are on the forum which I think is great! I also called the DF after watching the smoking tire review during which at the end it is mentioned they can build one for you, but DF no longer has time to do that.

I would like to grab a manual SS. I also would like to know it was built well and did not come from a donor that was at end of life drive terrain wise.

I will be continually watching the classifieds on this forum! and have seen the list and will be checking there as well. If anyone has insights into one coming to sale, or know of someone considering parting with their GOBLIN please let me know!

That is great to know! Just to ballpark, what sort charge should I expect to pay over the donor and kit for a build by a member?
Welcome! There are several goblins for sale right now and they come up fairly regularly. There are also several of us here that'd be willing to build one for another person.

I'm sure there's people here that would do an exact quote for you. I would have a very hard time, putting a price on it personally. I have many hundreds of hours into my car, but I know I could build a second one a lot faster/easier.

It's also tough to put a price on the finished car. Every car has a magic number that WILL take it, but what is that number? My car isn't for sale, so I haven't had to think about it much. :)

Unfortunately, the answer is "It depends..." There's a ton of options and customizations so it would take some discussion. I would say that it will almost certainly cost more to have one built specifically for you compared to buying an existing one for sale. Having said that, if you have one built, it will be tailor specifically to your needs/wants.

That all makes sense! I will watch for any nice ones that pop up for now, but if nothing fits the bill over the next couple months I will consider shelling out for a tailored build!

From what I can tell these are the only ones that are for sale:

unsure if still for sale:

Number in my head when ordering was about 20,000. For ss/tc Haven't even got frame yet and I'm allready thinking I'll be around 25,000 finished just because I don't want to cheap out on stuff or put wear and tear items back on. One could obviously be built cheaper reusing more parts like the wheels

When you get to 20, just stop counting...........it’s better that way.

I can concur with the budget and how it seems to grow out of control. My TC kit was a little over $13K (which included the F40 mod). Crate engine, new transmission and LSD, seats, harnesses and never ending list of (upgrade) replacement parts has put my current bill at a little over $28K and there is more to come. Add in the 'engineering experiments' I'm working on and I'm easily over $31K - and I still have a bare frame sitting in my garage. I guess I've blown past the original $25K estimate I sold my wife on to get my Goblin. :p
