Assembly day 2. Few missing parts that stopped progress but moving along nicely. Just need to get it to crank now. :)

Hopefully moving this weekend. Tires being mounted now on rims. Just need to finish suspension and install gear shifter. At least enough to drive it in and out of garage.

I ground off powder on all ground points. Connected headlight harness ground to transmission. Ran another ground wire so that ALL ground connection points were connected by cable, not relying on chassis continuity. Fired right off....

Low CCA, previous owner was using a marine battery for the car. Need a new battery. Lots of dash lamps. Will need to hook up hptuners and start running through them.

Congrats brother, I will be running in two weeks hopefully. The new engine is on the way, I am checking all of my grounds now, thanks for the reminder!

Ok, still working on the grounds.

Can anyone school me on the fuel line from the fuel rail to the fuel filter? I have a bag that says fuel line hardware with two fuel line end connections with barbs on other ends. I small piece of aluminum tubing and one small coated clamp. How are people making the line from this? Was line supplied?

Thanks!
I was going to use the same nylon line that I used (supplied) for the brake reservoir relocation. It is very thin walled tubing and there are tricks to installing it. I was not able to push it on with just my hands. I ended up using FI-rated (100psi+) rubber hose and FI clamps. There are drawbacks to both setups. Nylon is great and cheap and thin, but I don't like how it seems prone to kinking. I suspect it may be less abrasion resistant as well.

New battery today. Never experienced this before on any car i've owned. The donor came with a marine battery (dont ask) and it cranked fine when i bought the donor and before i tore it apart. New battery is 610 CCA and acts same as the marine that came with the donor. It cranks about a 1/2 rotation very slowly and stops... bout 2 tenths, a second delay with nothing, then rotates a full second turn quicker but still very slow, then fires off fine. Weird. Is that a weak starter? or something else? I have a 408 CI stroker that turns much faster with not much more CCA. Thoughts?

I did have a weird "Generator" DTC, maybe the alternator is weak? Causing a weak battery VERY quickly...

Ok, this is embarrassing... there is a connector on the alternator and a bolt. Is there supposed to be a cable attaching to the bolt? Assuming that should go directly to battery... thats a long way. Im missing something

Thanks!

Looks like the alternator is supposed to connect directly to the starter. I will install that and see if it helps. Maybe the new battery was never fully charged.

To be honest i never checked. Just picked up the battery new yesterday on my way home. I will check when i get home. It has been charging since last night.

Regarding front suspension. When i installed the arms, uprights, and shocks and then connect the rack and pinion arms to the uprights i have one upright straight and the other off by ~35 degrees from straight. I sent adam an email but im sure hes busy. Are we supposed to swap out the R&P arms with shorter arms? I do have some steering boxes with parts that im not sure what there for... didnt see their use in the videos.

Thanks! BTW, i tried turning the adjustments on the arms but they are STUCK solid and dont want to move.

Typically the battery's come charged, possible it wasn't but you never know. You can run a car without an alternator so I don't think its an alternator problem. Sounds more like a wiring issue. You could jumper to the starter and see how it turns over.

Where the quote came from

The easiest way to check the starter on the vehicle is to use jumper cables to bypass the vehicle's electrical system. With the ignition turned off and the transmission in "park" -- and with all due care -- connect one end of the red/positive jumper cable to the positive terminal of the battery. Touch the other end of the red cable to the positive terminal on the starter motor. The starter should spin/crank the engine. If it does, the problem is with the cables, connections or relay. If it doesn't, crank the engine, connect the black/negative jumper cable as a ground between the drivetrain and negative terminal of the battery. Touch the red cable to the starter's positive terminal. If the starter cranks the engine, the problem is a bad chassis ground.

What kind of battery. My optima would start like that, would charge it for days and still turn over slow. After 150 miles on 110amp alternator, its finally starting to crank some amps

Its an interstate battery... i wanted an optima but there price seems to have gone through the roof in the last 15 years

Yes shorter tie rod ends go on front. Original ones get used in the back

Get a torch and put some heat into them. My tie rod ends and jam nuts were also stuck solid even after multiple applications of penetrating oil.
