V1 Nuker's City Goblin build - 2007 SS SC Donor - Completed/Licensed

TheNuker
Hey guys, I need a bit of help, I can't find the battery current wires. I have not cut any 3 prong plugs off that have the white/gray/black wires. And I only have one wire with the same connector but it has a blue/yellow/pink. What am I missing?

Thanks!

Lonny
The SS cars don't have the battery current wires.

If you look at your short negative battery cable it should not have the current sensor around it.

About to conclude wiring, I'm going to put in in the car and attempt to start it before wrapping the whole harness.

Was able to get the main power cable cut down and soldered last night. Wire harness is laid in the car. Won't wrap it until I know the car starts. It looks okay so far, But one question. Where does the power steering pump get power. I plugged the motor into the power steering control box and it looks like it has a second plug for a big connector, But I can't seem to find that connector anywhere.

Thanks,

Sorry I'm confused. All the connectors were pictured when you asked this in the video thread?

http://dfkitcar.com/forum/index.php?threads/build-guide-part-14-combining-the-harnesses.208/

The steering motor gets its power from the fuse box, or, like most of us are doing, by connecting it directly to the battery with a 60 amp fuse in line.

The connector for the power steering motor originally plugged into the top of the main fuse box - that is why you could not find it. In the main fuse box there is fuse for it. Because that box in the rear end and I did not want to run the wire all the way through the tunnel I put an inline fuse in my Goblin directly from the battery to the power steering. The power steering was directly from the battery in the main fuse box too. It is evidently disabled from drawing power if the car is off. This means there is no draw from the battery.

Crap, sorry guys I guess my brain is broken. Too much stress at work! I'll dig around and see if I can find that big black connector that plugs into the power steering. I can't seem to find that part.

I think it has a large gauge red maybe with a black stripe wire attached. On your pictures, the first one with the base of the main fuse block, I think I see the one end of the wire and its fuse block connector.

I'll check again, Thank you Dan!

I'm determined to get this **** thing running tomorrow. I need super charger noise in my life. Does anyone have notes for the pinout on the front BCM connector to the dash buttons? I think I might of removed some steering wheel buttons I needed.... But I cut all the wires at the BCM about 2 inches long so can be resoldered.

Hopefully we are about to an end of my stupid electrical questions.

Thanks,

I took pictures of the electrical section of the 2010 shop manual and posted the link on the forum. Some are hard to read. Section 11 pages 196-199

Okay, I went to the u-wrench-it and cut off the black power connector for the power steering pump, Now I just gotta figure out the vacuum line that runs from the front to the back connects to the SS/SC engine.

Has anyone setup the fuel system on their SS/SC yet? The click in male adapter won't slide into the fuel filter I bought since my donor did not have a fuel filter. So now I'm trying to figure out how to get them together.

THanks,

Can you put up some images of the fuel system components you are trying to use and we will help you out.

Here is the supplied male to male adapter and my fuel filter. The fuel filter snaps into the 2 lines from the fuel pump no problem. The provided 90deg adapters for the fuel lines snap onto my fuel rail and onto male to male adapter. But the male adapter will not slide into or snap into the fuel filter.

Any ideas?

That looks the same as mine...it was an extremely tight fit. Like I thought I was going to crush the filter installing it.

I chucked the little male adapter in my drill and polished the filter side with steel wool. Then sprayed it with WD-40 and it went in with a vise. Too tight is better than too loose I suppose!

Hey JSATX,

Okay, Thanks for letting me know! I'll give it a shot tonight. Was about to consider just using SS fuel lines but I have no idea what I would need since the fuel pump has 2 lines going out and only 1 into the fuel rail.
