I believe it needs more caster too. I would also bring the camber to around -.8 to -.5. I know DF recommends -1.5, the tires just don’t seem to make enough contact with that much neg camber. Around -.5 seems a lot better.

plus, don’t forget to get your tires pressure down. They may have brought them up to 32 psi like cars normally are, but a goblin is so light, you only need 20psi at the most.
Definitely check tire pressure.

And if the first numbers on the screen shot are camber, it for sure needs reduced if running wider tires. And the back needs to be closer to matching, even if it takes some grinding on the bolt holes.

It definitely needs more caster thats the main thing he bumped down and I was unhappy about it no longer self centers the wheel will stay wherever you put it
I didnt think of tire pressure I had it down to 21 before I will check that today

I had one cam bolt in and meant to take the other with me for them, I will bring it this time for sure and let them know it pulls hard and needs to get closer for $205 I expected it to be closer to the specs I gave them and maybe tightening the lower ball joint more than finger tight......

anybody know how many turns of the front tie rods = 1° of toe?
I gave both sides 3 revolutions
again I don't believe he adjusted caster at all because I used tamper evident torque paste (crosscheck) its still solid blue and no breaks or white marks in it all 4 Heim joints
I also just found more loose bolts this time right rear hub to knuckle finger tight and the wheel had 1/4" of play by hand when I jacked it up
all data says 85 ft lbs on those but also refrences an LSJ (there is no spec for the LNF)

Take the time to string line it to set toe. It might take a few hours but will be worth it. Just don’t use a tape measure that has a loose clip on the end, Get a metal ruler or two if you have a helper.

3 turns sounds like a lot. Remember it more than doubles the amount of movement at the rim. It’s moving one side in and the other side out and the adjustment point is a smaller radius. Most of us that do our own alignment have usually discussed fractions of inches not degrees since we really can’t measure the angle. We could calculate it but not really important.

So walk away from this joker and don't take your Goblin back. He apparently does NOT know what he is doing and accept that your $200 was wasted on his incompetence. Sorry, but we all live and learn from our not so dangerous mistakes.

I ended up doing the math and used what I had.
2- 4’ levels in 2x4 blocks measured 20” wider than longacre plates I rounded off to 1/4” toe.
I adjusted ride height on right rear and spring pre load both sides, checked every fastener in the suspension. It’s 95% better but still needs more caster. It doesn’t self center but the wandering floating driving on ice feeling is gone.
I posted in my local auto cross group to ask for help with actual toe plates until I get it set and prove to myself I can do it to a standard I’m happy with I won’t buy them.
Air pressures are at 18 rear and 17 front
It is still pulling right a tiny bit under hard accel but I haven’t adjusted rear toe or camber yet.

I prefer string line to toe plates. I rather set it to the rim than tire.

My tires have a bit of stretch so the rim sticks out past the sidewall a bit. The levels sit against the rim lip perfectly.

I’m wheel shopping again though. I feel the need for more back tire 235 is not enough. 2nd spins pretty bad at any speed

What is the TW of your tires? Anything above 100 TW will not grip very well, because a Goblin is very little weight. Too high tire pressure will not help either, where 20 lbs or less pressure is advised. These need to be considered and optimized before wider tires can be a better solution. Also know that going too wide can be as detrimental as too narrow for tires. There is a sweet spot for width that @Lonny has discussed previously and he believes that a 245-255 width in the rear is probably best, with 225 in the front. I'm sure this could be found with the right search made in the forum.

I’m running 235/40zr-17 Toyo proxes r888r xl 100tw (I believe) running 17 psi front and 18 rear

I can’t find my wheel any wider that 9” in a 17 so I may be selling them to go with a staggered setup.

Had a blast taking family and friends on a ride over the weekend..
I shocked the crap out of some old friends and my boss, "Father in law" (we aren't married yet) and Niece from Alabama loved it, I let my boss drive and he was amazed, Friend who has a pretty tuned up ws8 Trans Am was beside himself and in shock how quick it is, I got a lot of "holy sh**" responses. I was even able to take my 83 year old grandmother who is suffering from Alzheimer's for a tame cruise with a couple "spirited" accelerations and her grin was amazing! she enjoyed it a lot and said she'd like to go again sometime so I told her I'd take her out to lunch in it when the weather isn't so hot.
Nobody! knows what's coming and every single person is shocked at the power and acceleration. I can't wait to get it on a dyno and see what I'm actually putting down to the wheels.
I'm getting ready to run the tank empty and do a 92 octane tune for those times e85 is unavailable.
I also want to look into a single board pc and small touch screen to load HPtuners and mount in the car for "push button" flashes of the tune.
on the hunt for a cheap android device with decent camera to use Track Addict for recording (stupid Iphone security features)

Side panels will happen this week as soon as I figure out a better carseat latch point solution, front aero is back burner until winter at least.

I am going to try to button up a few projects around the house and ask permission to come to goblinfest, anybody have any experience with that know about where to stay, is there going to be any places still available? I will be trailering my car in a solar powered air conditioned trailer and have a pretty decent quiet generator I could technically stay in that If there is a place to park it.

Taking people for a joy ride is always fun. Taking people for a ride at autocross and scaring the **** out of them is more funnier. :D

plenty of hotels, rv places and cabins in town at goblinfest. It’s not a festival weekend, so availability is pretty abundant. Also you can park the trailer at “headquarters“ (Lonny’s place) if you want. Just give him a heads up.

Still Hunting for my coolant leak.
I am running out of ideas for where it could be It only leaks sometimes and never when parked.

Still Hunting for my coolant leak.

A favorite leak is at either end of the turbo coolant feed or return. The leaks are usually very small and turn to steam while driving and cool off, then virtually seal up soon after running. With a cold pressure test they bubble and show up. Turbo bodies get very hot and expand/contract a bunch.

Coolant leak located!
I haven't had a chance to fix it yet but it is definitely coming from the right side splice between the frame rail and cylinder head near the alternator.

I want to get it out today and send a data log to my tuner, run the e85 out and start a 93 tune, Floor rubber mats to be made this weekend, side panels will go on as soon as I get my hands on a rivnut tool, the rest in no particular order --- replacement seat brackets and a proper harness bar for the shoulder straps, my 3D printed cup holder, additional gauge mounts under cluster, front downforce of some sort, upgraded headlights/ foglamps, 2nd heat exchanger in intercooler loop with thermostat controlled fan, revisit my coolant expansion bottle for intercooler loop, junkyard seatbelt or latch brackets for child seat passenger side (I'm currently using a grade 70 chain link over the seatbelt bracket bolt to attach the latch point to and I don't love it).

******Goblinfest ******

I got permission to attend! Surprised me a bit but she didn't have an issue with it at all. Anybody with experience have a recomendation on hotel in the area?

I had planned on using a friends enclosed trailer to tow down, turns out front wheels are an inch and a half wider than the door of the trailer. I'm considering trying space saver spares from the junkyard to pull in and out of the trailer, or a tow bar kit to flat tow the goblin.

Anybody with experience flat towing a goblin - Is it a good or bad idea to swap out wheels to something more durable for a 1200+ mile round trip and keep the 100tw's in the back of the tow rig?
