V1 Ross's extended city, easy entry Goblin- 06 SS/SC, NW Arkansas

I spoke too soon.
Behind the return check valve was a small filter.

That filter was pretty plugged up, which caused the new pressure regulator to not work correctly.
54475

So I removed the check valve and filter, and the new regulator seems to be working.

Thanks Jirwin. I doubled up the wires to the fuel pump, inside the fuel tank. I can run new wires outside the fuel hat, if I need the extra fuel pressure.

Cheap parts suck.

Are the black aluminum threads strong enough to compress the brass ferrule?
No. :( I stripped 2 of them trying to get them to seal.

I decided to cut the fuel line to eliminate the 90 degree bend.
54581

So that the fuel line can go down.

Rather than having a 180 degree

Ebay.. but Amazon, Walmart, and auto supply stores all sell aluminum ones. I ordered a stainless steel compression fitting that adapts to 3/8" NPT, because i couldn't find one that adapts to AN6. I will adapt the NPT to AN6.

Dumbasses...brass is about 15-20% harder than aluminum. Doesn't take a genius to not understand this, but there they are selling parts that are incompatible for the application. Plus there will be galvanic corrosion between the bronze/brass and aluminum. Double dumbasses.

I modified my hood to open without tools.
The back of the hood is held by 4 wing bolts. I welded nuts to the goblin frame.
54599

I welded some plates onto door hinges, and made the front pivot.

Then attached a string. I should add pneumatic lifters... one day.

Guess what the LSJ block weighs?
The block has 3 bolts on the top, 4 oil squirters, all the oil plugs and engine frost plugs.
Once thru the sonic cleaner, so only some oil staining left to scrub off. I will clean it some more tomorrow.

Today I pulled out the flywheel, girdle, pistons, crankshaft, oil cooler, and the crank position sensor, knock sensor and oil pressure sensor.

The girdle weighs 21 lbs 6 ounces.
54630

The flywheel & 8 ARP bolts weighs 18 lbs, 8 ounces.
54631

The crankshaft is 35 lbs, 10 ounces.
54632

4 pistons and connecting rods, 11 lbs, 0 ounces
54633

The block is 51 lbs, 15 ounces.
Markm was closest, and Robinjo with tree fiddy ounces (21.875 lbs) was second. :)

True... if you want a race car. Add a performance puck clutch, and you need to get familiar with your clutch engagement point, otherwise you are stalling every time the light turns green. The race track is fun, but I want my car to have good street drivability.

I have a Clutch Masters clutch and ZZP lightweight flywheel and have not noticed any negatives. Drivability did not change at all.

Setting up the drill press to the correct angle was a challenge, but tapping it was easy.

The AN10 to 7/8"-14 thread adapter didn't have a 1/2" hole thru the middle... but it did have enough aluminum that my drill could enlarge it to the larger 1/2" size.

Here is where the new turbo drain hole pokes thru the girdle... a little bit higher up than the oil pan flange.
