The plastic links sound like something that originally came from the donor. Whatever they are, I probably don't have.

To all the 5-speed builders still in the early process, make sure you save the black rectangular pieces that hook up to the pushrods in Lonny's picture from above. If you have shifter hardware already that includes a ~6 mm heim joint, you're good to go.

I can't find them online so if you tossed them like me, it might be a junk yard run. Something to think about.

That's pretty much how I have mine routed. Not sure if it's right, but I have no problems.

Your gonna have to cut some threads off the driver side to be able to get it adjusted correctly.

Yeah, it does look great! However, it doesn't last long no matter how hard you try. It's truly disheartening!

How do you disconnect the stock transmission cables from the manual transmission? The ALLDATA manual, step 6, isn't very descriptive. Is there a secret way to push or pull or press a tab, or is it a brute force thing?

Brute force. Pull straight up. Don't feel bad, it got me at first also.

What Chad said. Slide a screwdriver between the shifter and connector and pry up. Should pop right off.

I tried with a big screwdriver, then I added a claw hammer. Brute force won. Thanks for the help!

When I bought my short throw shifter I got the linkages too. I think it was 60$ for both. I got them from ottp. I heard the oem ones break or the white plastic piece falls apart. I forget where I read it Haha. It looks like they will be harder to adjust though View attachment 4723

The linkages won't work with the adjustment rods that DF sent because the linkages are for a larger diameter. I need to actually update that on my thread so people don't order those.
