Well it’s not quite perfect and still needs some work but my garage is getting better. The frame is in and there is actually lots of room for activities.

I gotta give you guys props that do these in a garage. I held this project off until I had the space. There was no way it was gonna happen in a 2 car garage with 4 motorcycles in it. Once I move to where I am now, I decided to jump in. An airplane hangar is good space for this project. :D

An airplane hangar would be a luxury. I stripped my donor in a 10x20 storage unit with no air or electricity. I did the build in my 2 car garage and felt I had plenty of room to work along with the bonus of having electricity and air available (air tools would have been nice for stripping but weren't needed for the build).

I switched everything to battery power (all Milwaukee). I would say I only use my compressor to air up tires, but that’s battery powered too. :p

Same. Except for the powdercoat gun, tires and when the air hammer needs to bail me out of problem. The compressor doesn't get used too much anymore.

I switched over to electric everything but there's still a fair bit of stuff that needs air like the tire machine, blast cabinet, plasma cutter, etc.

Got my 14mx2.0 tap today. Along with the winch.
Didn’t get a chance to build the winch yet but I got the rear threads cleaned out and I took one of the bolts to the wire wheel on my bench grinder. Still need to clean the head up a bit more but totally night and day. Test threaded it down the tube and goes in nice and smooth.

A little anti-seize when you install it for the last time and some paint on the shaft/head to keep the metal mites at bay and will be as good as factory!

I usually use anti seize but I read an about someone having trouble keeping it tight and using loctite. So was wondering if I should go that route.

I don't recall seeing these bolts as a common problem coming loose. Torque them correctly and they should stay put, even with anti-seize. A 14mm bolt is good for more than 100 ft.lbs. - but follow the DF spec.

Those bolts don’t normally loosen, but some mild loctite is not a bad thing. The front ones that are square bolt to round hole may need some retightening once you get some miles on it and it settles in.

also it’s a good idea to put a wrench on all nuts and bolts once a few miles are put on it.

So got one of the radiator hoses through the frame. Started working on the second one and the paint roller came loose from the rope just at the last corner. Now I gotta figure out how to get it out.

Pull hard in the oposite direction worked if there is enough left over hose to grab. I had to brace my legs against the frame.

Not sure what you’re telling me.
Either way, I was running a dry paint roller through the tube to clean out the gunk. The knot in the rope slipped and left the paint roller inside the tube. I got creative and got it out. Was way to late to finish. So I got it all prepped and ready and the kid and I will finish pulling the second one through in the morning.
The hopefully on to the floor boards.
