Time for an update. My garage time has been very limited by work, family issues, and life pulling me off in every direction for quite a while. My progress on my Goblin (and home projects) has been suffering and the several modifications/fabrications that I started before Christmas are not yet completed - and is holding up starting on some other pending Goblin modifications. It's not your fault Dale.
Anyway, the heat exchanger side pods are now shells with 5 layers of 2oz and 4oz fiberglass - for now. The foam has been removed, forgot how much fun it is to create an amoeba out of foam and acetone. What a volatile mess that was.

I fitted the pod shells to fit snuggly onto the heat exchangers, angled to drive all incoming airflow toward the sideways mounted HEs.

Next is to fabricate internal baffles that will be bonded/fiberglassed inside the pods. A forward baffle will create a flange to hold the rock grills in place (similar to what I did inside the nose for the radiator rock grill). Internal baffles will direct all incoming airflow into the heat exchanger cores to eliminate wasted airflow going around the HEs.

All of the air exiting the heat exchangers will dump into the air space in front of the engine/transmission - which is a lower air pressure area - to help draw airflow through the HEs.
