V1 Kenny and Ashleys extended city goblin- 08 SS TC DONOR #218

Did you rivet or rivnut the floor? Main reason I ask is you'll probably want to rivnut the passenger side kickplate and the bottom holes can be a pain to drill out and rivnut without your floor paint taking an L - there just isn't enough room for the tools as well as have a straight shot at the holes. Also, wait to actually install the kickplate until after yo have your front control arms and steering rack torqued down.

If you've rivnut the floor you can unscrew just the front > rivnut kickplate and bolt back in cleanly.

edit; I sweat that garage!
Thank you for the help! I oddly didn't get a kick plate with my kit... I went through everything to find it and nada. Thanks for the garage credit! Ha. Makes it soooo much easier.

I haven't put mine on yet (bcm plate) because of other reasons but I can't stress enough that rivets are not gonna be your friend. I riveted my floor and fire walls but will be screwing my tunnel and bcm plate given that those are serviceable items.

Also maybe stop working on it entirely. Take a breather. Enjoy the weather. Take your significant other out for a month long cruise.

DAAAANG got the engine in and she is sitting pretty. Ashley and I find our selves standing back a lot just saying "can you believe we are building this?" What a sense of accomplishment.

I found the build comes together really quickly after you get the motor in - provided there's no electrical gremlins.

Time to get your subframe/rear suspension/brakes/front installed! Did you opt for the solid motor mounts and ebrake?

Yah I'm hoping no electrical issues. Plus side is i do HVAC for a living so I'm halfway decent at electrical. And yes we got e brake and solid mounts. Stainless brake lines too. Pretty pumped.

The wiring service is tough to swallow but it was really worth it to me - I was happy with how it turned out. Still had to open up the harness to account for the LEDs.

For the motor mounts, the rear one is easy but the front one causes some folks heartburn. I found it easiest to bolt the mount to the subframe first with the subframe loose from the frame. Then loosely bolt the mount to the block > torque your subframe to the frame > tighten down motor mount. There needs to be some play as align stuff as the tolerances were all over the place from the factory - making it difficult on DF to make a one size fits all front solid motor mount.

For the ebrake, you can lay the channel in and work on bolting in the ebrake to the top channel. You could also run your tubes and cables once you have the subframe/suspension/and hubs installed. Just keeping you busy without the harness!

I'm glad I did my own harness because I had the time and I wanted to be more involved but holy crap was it tedious. Plus the liability of issues skyrockets. Luckily I only had one missing ground but I'd prob buy the wiring service if I did it all over.

Got the front end started and the seats arrived today!

Really starting to take shape now! We REALLY want to install subframe and rear suspension but I'm still worried about the wire harness not being in the car quite yet. We will see. May get a hair somewhere and donit tomorrow.

I need to work on my tune now, but I'm basically done as far as the build process goes. Gotta hook up my brake/head lights and bleed my brakes.

Gonna be a lot of lil things to take care of especially since I'm straying away from a stock DF build and the tune will be angry until it's resolved.

Hell yea dude!! I can't freaking wait to be at that stage.

So the flourescent calipers just kept flaking no matter what so I decided to have them powder coated. HIGHLY recommend you choose powder!!!
