Interesting as a potential donor:

Stock block recommended limit: 375whp

Transmission: 260 wheel torque for the automatic
280 for the manual

And a fun graph:
52572

I assume that's related to this post from a while back:
While designing Goblin V2, we kept in mind that we would be adding a second donor package in the near future.

We would appreciate the Goblin community's input for narrowing down an alternate donor.

Please include the following if you would like to suggest a possible donor and make it easy to compare apples to apples.

Make and model
Year available
Turbocharged (yes/no)
Base HP
Tuned HP on pump gas without internal mods
Auto trans option (yes/no)
Tuning and mod support (yes/no)

I’ve been looking for a goblin for a while to add to the stable. Grew up racing Honda motocross bikes and have always been a fan of their cars. My wife and I both have 10th gen accords mainly because they are a fantastically balanced car. The 2.0T and 10sp auto is among the best I’ve driven in its class. We have many higher level cars in the garage but the accord is a great everyday driver. 1️⃣ f the accords has a aftermarket intercooler, via, and stage 3 tune. It’s spicey to say the least. While I’m familiar with the cobalt platform and its possibilities, the motor pales in possibility compared to the Honda. Why has no one attempted this a powertrain option? I’m a former certified welder and family owns a machine shop so anything is possible. Just wanted to know if there are limiting factors that would preclude this powertrain from being used, or more so if any OTHER powertrain is being used. The cobalt can’t be the only choice.

The sky's the limit if you have the fabrication skills and knowledge to adapt the drivetrain, subframe and front suspension to a rear mounted unit. The electrical will also be another challenge that could be more difficult than the mechanical aspects. If you have the skills, then blaze the trail and build a Honda motivated Goblin! :D

The Ariel Atom is Honda based with similar styling, but has a lot more custom engineering. That would be much more of a package deal and the Honda setup you like. The goblin takes a pretty decent cobalt platform and incorporates a ton of parts to reduce costs, but still has the performance and uniqueness of a kit car. If you want to mix the two, that’s cool. It’ll take some doing, but it can be done. I don’t know enough about Hondas to tell you how easy or hard it would be, but it would be a cool build.

Sounds like your the perfect candidate to get the Honda Goblin rolling.

One of the hardest parts to figure out for a Honda swap is the spindles. Either you get custom axles that are Honda inners and cobalt outers. Or you get custom spindles that can take a Honda wheel bearing for the axles

Front half of the goblin is stock cobalt
*Rack and pinion, suspension, etc.
Radiunless you do rear mounted

Depends how fancy you wanna get with the build but a Honda swap is possible
