V2-008 Back From Powder Coat in Illusion Spanish Fly

V2-008 is back from the powder coating shop in Illusion Spanish Fly.

The Illusion line is a two step application. A base coat goes down first, then the Illusion top coat over it. The top coat is translucent, so the base underneath still does work and the color you end up with has depth to it rather than sitting flat on the tube.

In this case the result is a deep metallic gold that shifts toward bronze and amber depending on where the light hits. Out in direct sun it goes bright. In the shade it pulls back toward a darker copper.

This one is a T-Top chassis with standard door bars. The builder also added the main hoop X brace and the rear cage X brace, both of which you can pick out in the photo above.

V2-008 is being built with a manual 2018 VW GTI donor.
