Question about Copart buying in Michigan but car is in Missouri

Now, for the goblin...I don't like crushing dreams, but I will crush nightmares. Building a project car with no budget in a barn that isn't yours sounds like a nightmare to me. A Goblin is a really fun dream car, but an unfinished goblin that you ran out of money for and can't get on the road is a $15k daily reminder of your poor financial decisions.

I would apply the Dave Ramsey test here: Can you afford to set $15k on fire in your front yard? If you can, a Goblin will be a great experience. If not, you're probably not ready to build one yet.
So again just wait 20 to 30 years and buy one

Being smart isn't a requirement.

I have worked with welders that made $200k per year, and collected unemployment for 5 months of it.
I have worked with business owners that were C students in high school and never went to college. They often own million-dollar-per-year (profit) businesses.
I have worked with farmers that dropped out of high school and now own $4M+ of paid-off equipment.

None of these people are necessarily smart, at least not in the traditional sense. In my experience, they have two things in common:
1. Show up on time
2. Be ready to work

Repeat. Forever. If you can do those two things, you'll be tremendously successful, because most people can't or won't do those two things. Just doing those two bare-minimum things will put you in the top 25% of employees in the whole country.
I had almost my enigr high-school career perfect attendance but it never really got me anything, if I got another job I'm not sure if would have time for much else but unsure

I'm going to change one thing.
1. Show up early 10-15min is all
2. Be ready to work at working time.

Mr. Chubbs! You are a G. D. Oracle! Like a latter-day Sooth Sayer! Truth is ugly and few enjoy hearing it, Thank You for just "bowin' up" and saying what MUST be said! Dreams and Nightmares are just a few steps apart! BUT NONE OF THIS MEANS STOP DREAMIN'! Just think really hard and listen to your elders, they've been there.:D

To start with, HS is a poor example of how the work world works. But attendace is an eternal truth, good habits make good results.
Dude?, is it raining where you are? You sound like you need some Beach or Mountain or even Lake time! Pack a cooler and some lunch and go drown some worms, then get back to us!(if fishing is your bag?) OH!, And stop watching the news! get 30 min of news a day and turn it off! News has become a form of entertainment. (and in my book a poor choice in entertainment. There is a line between informed and overwhelmed) Go Read a book.(ancient issues of hot rod or car craft magazine would do nicely.)

I actually have not watched the news in years unless it was a short part about talking over astro evens like planets alignment and things like that. Going fishing does sound nice as well. I need to find out when truck pulls are in my area so I can take them days off from work and get back into the swing of things for photography

Anyone able to give a estimate on how long it take for future sales to go live on copart? The one I'm looking at has been listed since at least February 12th so I feel like it should be any time now but not sure. I'm also worried if I'll be fighting other builders for it or someone that wants to part it out.

I waited more than 3 months for the donor I purchased from Copart to go live, and I'm sure it was listed for a while before I found it. Patience, it will happen eventually. Good luck.

I will see what the copart goes for since if I can get it fairly cheap even with the fees I'd say it's a win
Nevermind, after talking with someone the car I was looking at probably won't be a good pick after how much that car will.go for with others bidding on it then fees and gas. I'll unsave it from my watch listing and just keep saving for the goblin stage one kit. Since say win the auction at 1500 add copart fees it'd be 2500 then roughly 400 in gas so at 3k now so why not just spend the extra 500 and get a rougher in condition and more miles cobalt that's closer

As dumb as this sounds, it is an eternal truth: To finish any project one must start said project! Experience shows no donor will prove to be exactly as needed; misc pieces will need to be sourced through out any build. Waiting too long on "the perfect donor" burns build days.(Says the guy who is going on 6 day Road tour on June 9 and his car is not running or road tested.)

This car is perfect but just with how much it's going to go for it would just be better to get a ss supercharged cobalt for 4 to 5k with about 200k miles that's at very least in the same state

Just was hoping to get something I wouldn't have to do a engine rebuild nearly as quick with that many miles

Why does the engine in a driving donor need a rebuild if it is running just fine? Some small maintenance items should be done (timing chain guide and tension bolt) and it can be a drivable Goblin until sometime later when you can afford a rebuild. Just because an engine has some higher miles on it doesn't mean it's bad. Just don't beat on it all the time and it should last until you get tired of the car or it finally does need a rebuild. Think things thru and focus on what is possible in the current situation.

Edit: BTW, the '06 SS that @Mahkoi listed is a bargin for what it has. You could drive it while saving up for your kit. Keep in mind that V1 kits will be available for a while from DF and there is always an unfinished kit for sale many times on the forum, facespace, etc.
