Cutting the fat

I don't think you'll have a problem building a nice goblin for under $25k.

Could skip the rear wing as it does nothing.

Have you ridden in a goblin yet?

The do not have it listed as an option but ask about the double door bar entry. It’s lower the the track Frame but slightly higher than the city. It also adds in a bit more straights

Thanks, k.rollin and OptimizePrime. That's the kind of info I was looking for. I've never heard of Steel-it or Raptor Liner, but I'll definitely be checking them out after finding out how much powder coating costs. WOW!

LOL on the wing opinions. I'm soon to be 49 years old, and I hate wings on ricers. They make me laugh. But, I honestly think they do a lot for looks on the Goblin. I'm getting one. :)

BTW... SmsDetroit - Thanks for mentioning the double bar door entry. I'll be inquiring about that for sure. Especially after hearing how nobody likes the extended city easy entry that I was so keen on...

For a primarily street driven vehicle, I like the full height door dars. They're at perfect armrest height.

The reason that I was originally going to go with easy entry, and extended city frame is because I'm a bigger guy and I'm 48 years old. Don't get me wrong - I'm in very good shape for my age and would have no trouble now. But, I wonder how difficult it will be for me getting in and out in 5 years. Or 10 years.

That's why I'm now leaning toward the double bar entry. Kind of in-between, and probably a little safer. Are any of you guys around my age (or older) with regular frame cars having any difficulty getting in and out comfortably?

I don't know that anybody on the larger side could truly get in and out "comfortably" of a full race, full door bar car. I'm 52, 6ft, probably pushing 220 lbs, with non-extended, race, full bars, and right know I tend to just climb all of the way over the top of the halo. Of course mine is still on dollies, and I haven't gone back and added the quick detach steering wheel, so some of that might change.

I highly recommend finding one to climb in and out of to see how it works for you before buying. Even if it means an overnight trip to see one. I wish I had, and I would probably have ended up with an extended chassis just for the slightly more room to get in and out. There's plenty of room once in the seat.

Track frame, non-extended, no quick release wheel, aluminum race seats. 53, 5'11 with a low back issue.
I'm able to get In and out without issue, once you find your method that is.
It is nice to have the halo there to grab onto while getting in and out.

I've found that getting in and out of the car is a guage/reminder for me to get in shape and stay limber. Kind of like your doctor telling you "get excersise and eat right.". Except in this case I dont mind hearing it. Lol

I am 45 and 6ft 200ish lbs. I have a extended city frame with full doors. I don't have any problems getting in or out. I do have a quick release steering wheel. There was only one time I hooked a foot on the bar but that was when I first started and now once I got my method down I have no troubles.

"I tend to just climb all of the way over the top of the halo"

Well that is one way I never tried! :)
