V1 Frank's Florida Street Goblin Build (#227) - 06 SS, 2.4L donor

CaptFrank2001
New clutch, pressure plate & Aluminum Flywheel arrived today. Well packaged & ZZP ships very fast. Going to replace the Crankshaft seal, the axle seals and put in a new throw-out bearing. Need to check the clutch "air gap" and see if I need a spacer.

PS: The "GREEN" on the flywheel gets removed with Acetone.

New and shiny parts, sweet! Getting back on the road and testing to see if this clutch is capable for your engine's torque is exciting, but take the time to double check everything as you reassemble. Would hate to hear of any issues that require disassembly again (been there, doing it again on my Jeep clutch I just installed :().

Just a note: I helped a friend get his Goblin going. Every thing looked good and buttoned up nice. He took it out to shake it down more and something went sort of bang/pop and no more forward motion. I had left town and was helping him by posts. On jack stands the engine would turn the passenger side wheel a little. Then he saw it was dripping trans fluid. Preparing for the worst we began searching for an F35.
Then he took a good look at the L half shaft into the diff. The left side was pushed out of the diff! The very end of that axle had the splines on the button end chewed off. Either the clip did not hold the axle in the spider gear or we had failed to fully seat the axle in the diff.(I think we failed to seat the axle, a long day and being unfamiliar with all of these components.) Saints be praised, a new pair of axles(he did not want to replace just one, as both were from his donor and leaking just a little) and this time he made sure they were both completely inserted into the diff! All Better Now!

Sometimes it’s the simple stuff!

New ZZP Stage III clutch installed. Quite a project. While I had the car torn down I put in the new DF Billet Shifter I had for well over a year. Replaced rear crankshaft seal (was not bad) & both axle seals (also not bad). Installed the front rigid Transmission mount. I could not find any video for the installation but after 15 minutes of puzzle solving I figured it out (see pictures). Mount had interference on one bolt from the fuel tank which I had to shift 3/8" to the drivers side. New clutch is stiffer than I thought it would be but it's manageable. Short test drive today & I believe I have a vacuum leak.
