V1 Kenny and Ashleys extended city goblin- 08 SS TC DONOR #218

Kenny123
So we wired the goblin up today. Plugged as much in as we could possibly do. Everything looks like it should work. Turned the key and the lights came on. No engine cranking. Been looking EVERYWHERE for a potential ground missing. Nothing then I see this ground wire on my bench. Any idea where this bad boy goes?

It goes from the grounding lug on the engine support to any bolt on the engine. Did you clean the powder coat (or paint?) of the engine supports before mating the engine to the frame? If not, you definitely need that grounding strap.

Thanks man just did that and still no start. Hmm. I hear the pump come on and the relays clicking but no power to the starter.

shyit my bad, that small white plug is for the ambient light sensor.

i think the black is for that little white box next to the bcm and purple I THINK is power steering related but could be wrong

Defer to Lonny

Also this plug. No clue

Based on it's location this is for your coolant overflow tank (bottom side - also wont keep you from starting)

Do you have 12v at the starter and relay box pole?
Did you connect the 15amp fuse to the battery?
Does your fuel pump turn on and throttle body open/close?

So thank you all for your help. I actually did find the issue and I got the engine to crank now. Did forget to tighten the lower compression nut on the high pressure fuel pump so I KNOW I have gas hahaha. Not sure about spark though. Gonna mess tomorrow. Another oddity is I turn my key and I can let go and I still cranks until I physically shut it off. Its a brand new starter too so I can rule out starter solenoid.

Lonny
Four pin white plug is for the boost gauge.
Black with blue is for the small light gray box that mounts beside the BCM. It is the tire pressure monitoring receiver.
The pink and blue is for the brake reservoir.

Mine does the same thing. It stops after like 8 seconds or something like that. I think it's just a Cobalt (or a Chevy/GM) thing.

Also, my car runs for a second or so after I turn the key off.

I had the same problem with it running for a few seconds after the key is shut off. I found this fix in a Manny's City Goblin thread

Ok so I ended up buying a nice OBD2 scanner. Plugged her in and just like I assumed I had a fault in my crank position sensor. Replaced it and car fired right up! 1st start is done!!! Only issue is she shuts off IMMEDIATELY after it starts. Other codes are P0452 (FUEL TANK PRESSURE SENSOR LOW VOLTAGE) as well as P0449 (Evaporative emissions vent solenoid valve control circuit.) Also lastly P0238 Turbo boost sensor high voltage. So let the digging begin.

Kenny123
Sure does. I just tried that and it runs!! Turned it off immediately because we have no coolant yet but I assume once we to our intake and turbo piping she will run like a dream.
