V1 Shifter cable routing f23

So Iam uncertain if the shifter cables route closer to the oil pan or around the passenger axle. I followed Lonny’s pics but don’t see what Iam looking for and I have a different transmission cable bracket then what Lonny’s cable install shows.

I route cables above frame under gas tank like Lonny’s suggest.

The exact route really isn’t that important. Just make sure it is protected and use as large a radius as you can.

And not too close to any exhaust pipes, otherwise pit some insulation around the cables to prevent overheating. Several builders have found this out the hard way unfortunately. Always better to be safe and avoid another case of gummed up cables making for hard or no shifting.

Thanks for the replies. I sure do appreciate it. Iam shifting in all 5 gears and reverse now.

2009 colbalt 2.2 lap base model shifter cable routing. At this point I have 5 gears and reverse. Yet to drive it but I can put them in position so it’s 90% there’s no problems. Somewhere on this form there’s a 12 step process to install but the brackets on mine are different. Maybe this will help someone one day
