Powder Coating Info

All Goblin chassis are shipped uncoated and will need to be powder coated or painted after you receive the kit. We found that maintaining the quality of the coating during transportation was too inconsistent, and we prefer that the chassis reaches you in perfect condition for finishing at a shop you trust.

Scratches or shipping damage to a finished chassis are not acceptable to us, so arranging the coating locally is the best way to achieve the result you want. Many builders find a local powder coating shop through personal recommendations, the DF Kit Car Forum, or a simple online search.

Frame dimensions are approximately 127 inches long, 52 inches wide, and 44 inches tall for the extended chassis. These measurements can help you plan transportation and coating options.

When choosing a coating color, it is a good idea to visit a local powder coater to review color samples or order swatches. You can also browse photos posted by builders on the DF Kit Car Forum to see real examples. If you see a color you like, feel free to message the builder for details; the community is very supportive and helpful.

To transport the chassis to and from the coating shop, a trailer is ideal, but a pickup truck bed can work as well. In either case, using moving blankets or padding is strongly recommended to protect the frame during transport.
