Why are the SS Goblin V1 kits more expensive?
Last updated: Nov 18, 2025 by Adam Doyle
The SS versions of the Goblin V1 kit cost more because the supercharged (SS/SC) and turbocharged (SS/TC) versions require additional components that are not needed in base-model builds. You'll reus the factory supercharger or turbocharger from your donor car, but DF Kit Car must supply supporting hardware.
SS/SC (Supercharged) Goblin Kit
The SS/SC Goblin V1 kit does not include a supercharger but it does include additional parts to support the supercharger system.
To support the supercharged system, the kit includes additional components not found in the base Goblin kit:
- SC MAF tube
- Intercooler to heat exchanger plumbing
- Heat exchanger with fan
- SS shifter hardware
- Shifter cables
- Rear brake calipers
- Rear brake rotors
These parts are required to adapt the supercharged Cobalt hardware to work properly in the Goblin.
SS/TC (Turbocharged) Goblin Kit
The SS/TC Goblin V1 kit does not include a turbocharger but it does include additional parts to support the turbocharger system.
The SS/TC kit includes even more components to support the turbocharged system:
- Turbo MAF tube
- Turbo intake tube
- CNC machined turbo outlet adapter
- Intercooler tube
- Turbo MAP tube
- Silicone elbows and adapters
- T-bolt clamps
- Water-to-air intercooler
- Intercooler water pump
- Intercooler to heat exchanger plumbing
- Heat exchanger with fan
- SS shifter hardware
- Shifter cables
- SS/TC-specific fuel tank
- Rear brake calipers with CNC machined brackets
- Rear brake rotors machined to fit SS/TC hubs
