Will the kit come with ownership documentation?

DF Kit Car will provide a Manufacturer’s Certificate of Origin (MCO) for your Goblin after your kit is paid in full and you request the document. The MCO serves as proof of ownership for the kit and includes a serial number that matches the engraved serial number plate attached to the chassis. The plate is located on the bar behind the driver’s seat location.
The MCO is not a title. In most states, you will use the MCO to obtain a title when you register the completed vehicle. Since every state has different rules for assembled or kit vehicle registration, you will need to follow the titling process outlined by your state’s DMV.
In rare cases, some DMV offices may look at the date on the MCO and attempt to apply late registration penalties, assuming the vehicle should have been registered within 30 days of purchase. Because a kit car cannot be titled or registered until it is built, this does not make sense, and builders have been able to clarify this if questioned. To help avoid confusion, we typically wait to issue the MCO until you request it so the date is closer to your actual registration timeline.
