First Look: V2 Running Stage Packing List

V2-002

Here's a first look at what comes in a V2 Running Stage kit.

Quick Refresher on the New Stages

The V2 kit ships in two stages plus add-ons. The Running Stage covers the chassis and everything needed to mount the donor powertrain and get the engine running. The Driving Stage adds the suspension, steering, and brakes to put the car on its wheels and get it driving. Add-ons (body panels, lights, seats, performance upgrades) can be purchased with either stage or come back for later.

For the full breakdown of what each stage is and why we renamed them, see the V2 kit stages post.

The packing list below is for V2-002. Most Running Stage kits will look almost identical to this, with the differences coming down to donor trim and options.

If you've taken delivery of a Goblin V1 Stage 1, this list will feel very familiar.

Notable Differences from V1 Stage 1

A handful of items have changed enough to call out:

  • The tubular subframe is now standard. On the V1 it was an upgrade. On the V2, every kit comes with a tubular subframe and rear frame panel.
  • The floor is now four pieces instead of three (or one/two depending on the year of your V1). Easier to handle, easier to install, and easier to replace if a single section ever gets damaged.
  • The main coolant hose is now aluminum tubes. No more pulling rubber hoses through the frame rails during assembly.
  • Front and rear control arms are both included. The V2 has SLA suspension on all four corners, so the kit covers both ends. On the V1 the rear used donor control arms, so only front control arms came in the kit.
  • The fuel filler neck is aftermarket and supplied with the kit. No more pulling the filler neck from the donor and cleaning it up to reuse.
