V2 Update: IMMO Delete in Your Pocket

Written by Adam Doyle on May 21, 2026

Quick V2 status update from the shop.

For V2 builders who want the thinnest possible wiring, the IMMO delete is what unlocks it. Deleting the immobilizers in the donor ECU and TCU lets you drop the gauge cluster and a stack of other donor modules that otherwise have to stay in the build just to keep the engine and DSG happy. Simpler harness, less weight, more freedom to design the dash and electrical system the way you want.

The delete itself isn't new. What's new is how easy it just got.

Macchina A0 Bluetooth OBD-II dongle plugged into the OBD-II port of a donor Mk7 GTI system, with the red status LED illuminated during the IMMO delete flash.
The Macchina A0 dongle handling both the ECU and TCU IMMO delete through the OBD-II port. No laptop, no bench rig.

Before today, doing the delete meant connecting a computer to the OBD-II port to flash the ECU, then making a powered connection directly to the DSG to flash the TCU. Two different setups, two different procedures, and some expensive hardware.

Today we ran both flashes through a Macchina A0 Bluetooth dongle and an Android phone. That's it. No laptop. No advanced hardware. Plug the dongle into the OBD-II port and do the rest with an Android phone.

Big thanks to AaronC7 for the work that made this possible.

A more technical writeup will be available soon along with instructions for guys wanting to IMMO delete their donors.
