V1 Joe's 2009 F40 SS/TC #470

Traé
My frame has a tab welded on, I’m fairly certain that’s what it is for. I had to make a small clip as my plastic tab was broken off of the fuse box.

I'm going to just bite my tongue and sleep on this one because I'm quite angry at the moment.

Someone help me rationalize this.
Forgotten?
Monday frame? (Second mistake on this frame)
Change in design? (But why is my hardware amount looking like exactly how @Traé has his mounted)

Goodnight

Obviously making it work is what HAS TO HAPPEN, but somethings missing.
Provide the 90* bracket and a coated clamp or provide me with a welded tab and hardware, dont just say "set forth and go to Amazon my loyal customer" and don't give me either.

Y'all have early frames by the look of it. I know Ark is 187 and I just looked RT, you're just a few ahead of him at 184. Traé and I are 470 and 501 iirc, with close late number frames and the hardware I was provided. @Metal Mech 397 has a tab.

It has to be an F40 thing.

I have coated SS clamps ordered. I'll make a 90* piece our of space-age Aluminium and I'll make it happen. I'm over it.

Rttoys
I had a handful of those coated clamps left over, but I don’t remember why. Same with the L bracket. I don’t remember if it was Df provided or I got it out of my stash of crap I hoard.

I do remember missing a trans spacer. I ended up making my own cutting up the cobalt trans mount. Then later to find the Df spacer. :D

Just for future reference any case anyone does searches in the future.

Hey!
1. There is a reason I do not have a tab. Probably more than one, but at least one. My box sits crazy high in the frame.
2. Progress.

Scott stopped over to drop off a right angle drill for me to borrow and while I had him here... lol. I borrowed him as well, for about 20minutes.

I have to rewatch videos to track down which plug has the radiator fan wire in it.
it looks like everything will clear with the fusebox mounted with that clamp. I will need to make a plate at the bottom because the bottom mount does not match up with the transmission mounting plate. This new plate will bolt to the trans plate and overhang towards the front of the chassis and then will follow what everyone else's box looks like with a through bolt a spacer.

I don't get to use my sweet space-age bracket :(

Spent the day taking care of some unavoidable life and didn't get outside until 7:15pm.

Got some exact color blue wire from the scrap bin at work and got the radiator fan at the fusebox wired up and connected at the provided spade terminal. My fusebox came with a special ground wire from the fuse side. I assume the ground was broken somewhere in the wiring harness and they made a workaround because everything worked in the donor with this wire grounded to the chassis.
This ground wire is black, they extended it in brown, so I fixed that to a black wire extension to save myself potential confusion down the road.

My wife said she'll take some baby time and let me get out there tomorrow to clear my head.

Coolant connection came in. Guess I could do the front of the coolant system and install the fan assembly, front coolant hoses and wiring for the fan.
Coolant at the T under the fuse box.
Intercooler fan wiring.

I think that's my list of things for now. Get those complete and then move onto things like the turbo and cold side piping.

Wham bam efffin plan

Done list today
-plate installed, measurements taken for standoff for fusebox, almost permanently temporarily mounted, y'all know how that goes, on-off-on-off
-clutch line installed, had to go fishin' for one of those little clips to hold the line in. Did you know there is at least 3 different sizes/lengths?
-radiator video completed, is the radiator support bolt acceptable as a ground or is it necessary to drill into the frame again for another ground?
-Heat exchanger wired in
-coolant hose at the T put on
-fusebox trimmed
-final coolant connection on the passenger side at the head completed

And what may those last two connectors be? I have the coolant tank tagged, so that's not it.
