V1 Traé’s Goblin (06’ SS/SC #501)

Robinjo
Just as a data point, I removed my stock 2.4 crank pully and it slide right off without excessive force. New replacement 6 rib for LSJ from ZZP also went on with no problem. It is a tight fit ~.002" or so but not interference fit. It seems the high bolt preload holds it all in place. I can measure stock pulley but did not measure the shaft.

The video I just watched about doing a timing chain replacement, the gentleman also just slid his crank pulley off. I've yet to do mine but should know this winter.

Thank you guys for that info. I'm going to order another one with my parking brake cables to see if I can get the wobble fixed.

The steering rack limiters are finally in stock and on their way. I also requested the MCO and that will be mailed this week.

My plan is to try my best to get the inspection off in my home county so I do not have to trailer the car to another inspection site. My fingers are crossed but there is an inspection site within a few hours of me that has seen a few goblins already so it may come to that.

Hood and side panels are painted. This is just a good 4 coats of primer, I actually like the color and will probably run it for a bit until I decide on if I will attempt a wrap myself, plastidip, or get it painted to match the frame. Once the paint sets up in a few days I can work on getting everything installed. Still need to get holes marked and rivnuts installed for the side panels. Should have done this before but…oh well.

just need to order parking brake cables and get the inspection scheduled! The “end” is near!

These side panels are whooping my ass, are there any tips or tricks to get them lined up correctly? It seems like it wants to fall as it goes towards the rear and not be centered on the bar the length of the chassis.

Mine were horrible to install too. One of the pre cut holes lined up on welds on each side. It bugs me. Everything on the car looks tidy and well finished except for that dang unused hole right at the back of the cockpit area.

I wish there was one predrilled hole to get the ball rolling! Haha o_O

I used a combination of my child, clamps and thick painters tape to get my side panels lined up well. I have these decent ones but I'm sure cheaper ones can be had at the Freights of the Harbor. I also used rivnuts so that I could attach the panels with M4 button head screws so that they can come off as needed. Which has been very rare....

Nobody will notice, but you. But you will see it every time you go to the car. I know exactly how that works. LOL

Could you 3D print something to fill it?

Getting everything buttoned up and ready for inspection. E-Brake cables will be here tomorrow. I got the windscreen installed this afternoon and did not realize how short it would be. What wiper…if you needed one…did you install? I can’t seem to find one that will be short enough to not extend past the top of the plexiglass.

Does Ohio require a wiper if a windshield is installed? If so, is the windshield even required to be installed?
Based on others they needed some kind of windshield which would then require a wiper. I thought about that too but it seems that everyone in Ohio has needed a windscreen. I think only one has gotten away with no wiper down in Cincinnati, but would rather spend the money than to drive hours away to hope I don’t need one. Only thing I’m going to risk and try to somewhat argue are bumpers. I do have a backup plan for that though with someone offering to let me borrow theirs after their inspection.

I used a single 10" manual wiper by Kolpin, the ATV guys. I remove it after my yearly safety inspection. It's worthless but lets the garage guys check the box.
I was worried about them wanting to see the stupid thing work efficiently and couldn’t find one less than 16”. I’ll search for that one. Thank you!
