V1 Traé’s Goblin (06’ SS/SC #501)

I did not have to make a bracket, I used the bottom hole on the light mount and just sandwiched the edge of mounting bracket on the car in between the nut and the light. I used a small zip tie to keep it from rotating. The holes on the bracket on the car are just slightly different than the light. It’ll make more sense when you get the lights.

You could also drill into the bracket on the car where you need to mount it, I just didn’t feel like drilling another hole.

Oh, cool! I was wondering if that's what you had done, since they were angled like that, on your Goblin! I'm not sure I like them on an angle, but know they'll look weird horizontally with the way the stock light bracket are... I will know better, once they show up I guess :)

Lights showed up last night, didn't get them wired up, but I did have a chance to make 2 carbon fiber brackets :) I leveled them when the bar on the rear, they look level, but I don't care, as long as they're as bright as they appeared to be in the video I watched :)

In my opinion they are plenty bright! Shouldn’t have an issue being seen with your 3rd brake light. Looks good.

Yes sir! They are super bright! I got them wired up Friday morning and redid some of the wiring I had previously ran, just to clean things up a bit better. These are the best lights I've installed so far! I guess I need to make another build thread, since I deleted my previous one?

Has anyone disassembled the DF supplied mirrors? I’m having an issue where my driver rear blinker is staying illuminated and I just noticed the indicator bulb in my driver side mirror is out. I have checked all wiring and it should be working. I need to get the mirror apart to change the bulb to rule that out.

there are 3 screws behind the adjustable glass that I can not get to. I have been prying on it pretty hard but do not want to break it and be forced to buy a new one.

any help would be appreciated.

I'm not sure that staying illuminated is a light problem. The voltage should be alternating to make it flash.
I thought the same but the wiring looks fine. I took all of the tape off and traced all wires from the rear light to the fuse box. There are no breaks where that wire could ground somewhere or receive power from another source.

I do have mine wired differently than others, my rear turn signals are connected at the fuse box using the same wire that feeds the mirrors since mine have separate turn signals. Maybe since the bulb in the front is out it’s keeping the rear illuminated? I have no clue!

My lights are also funky, when I have the auto lights turned “OFF” the rear is not illuminated and functions as it should, front remains out. This is only an issue when my auto lights are turned “ON” or the light switch is in the “ON” position.

I may have wired something wrong while doing my harness or install but it has functioned just fine up until this weekend. Just want to get the darn mirror apart to see if it is a fix.

That might be a flashing ground circuit that is maybe grounding through a shot bulb, so I guess it’s not 100 impossible that the mirror is causing a problem.

I have, but had a replacement so I didn’t care about it. It was already broke, right? I “ripped it apart”. Put LEDs in and put it back together and it still works. o_O so there’s that. Your results might vary. CBR1000 mirrors are the replacements

I shattered the lens trying to get to the bulb to change it the day before my inspection.. There's no way to disassemble the DF supplied mirrors.

I did have to “break” one screw mount that was hidden behind the mirror that was not accessible at all. Sawed it off with a small jigsaw blade. The other 3 I was able to get out with a small Phillips screw driver…getting them back in will be fun.

I had a spare indicator light that was the wrong style for the mirror but I jumped it onto the leads and it works. The light being out was the cause of my issue.

IT CAN BE DONE!
