Had the day off. Worked on the front fenders. Who said 17x9 245/45/17s wont fit under the fenders. Just needed a little modification...

A little clean up on the edges and your satanic engine cover will be one of the best parts of your Goblin! And the fenders are looking good too. ;)
Most of what you're seeing is actually silver sharie. Just need to sand it all down in prep for wrap but don't know that I'll do that until after its been inspected.

Is the metal nipple thats in the vacuum line that used to connect to the intake part of the kit? I'm drawing blanks on how to get this to connect to the intake tube.

Learned that those lines can be removed with a fuel line tool. That in turn led me to this fitting. Hope to try it over the weekend and finally get this check valve connected to the intake.

Nothing really happened over the weekend. Fought with adjusting the parking brake and them pulling uneven and the passenger side not self adjusting.

If you are wanting to reuse the braided section of line separate from the black fitting, I couldn't get any type of tool to fit in and disconnect it. I finally had to use a cutoff wheel to cut it off.

And I just used hose over the quick disconnect fitting line. I don't think there will be enough pressure to cause problem, but we'll see. Getting close to being ready to start.

This fits perfecting in both the check valve and directly in the braided line. Can be removed with the same fuel like disconnect tool you used disassembling the donor fuel line.

Put in M4 rivnuts for the side panels. Works well when they are lined up and you don't strip the threads. The tool said to adjust to 6mm depth. We had it at 3mm or it was pulling too much.

Having issues with the hood so I ordered these and going to try them. If not, going to just weld a nut to the ones that are there now.

I stripped out the hood fastners so I put in the hex ones. So much better. Even a grinder and paint can't make my first ever welds look like a 10 footer.

So are you a welder or a grinder? :)
Could have riveted them on. Dont feel bad galvanized or plated metal will always give you fits.
In this case a grinder.

First time Ive ever touched a welder. From the little knowledge I have I messed up by setting the voltage on the thickness of the steel, not the fastners and started to burn through them. Also, the wire speed was too quick IMO and I had to get further from it and actually had to cut it off because it fused together at one point.

Live and learn though. I may pick up a flux/mig welder and learn how to weld. Something I’ve wanted to do for a while.

Pyro, learning to weld is all about making mistakes and trying different things to see what works. I assume you looked at some welding videos online, since you did get some beads onto the pieces. Don't worry about how it looks, you will get better with practice and time. We all start somewhere and that grinder will help 'pretty-up' some ugly welds. ;):D

You will never be satisfied with welding with a flux core welder. IMO they were designed for the farmer to be able to fix something in the field and not care what it looks like. Now on the other hand if you can teach yourself how to weld perfect beads under all that slag then you've got it made!
