V1 Traé’s Goblin (06’ SS/SC #501)

Twas’ in the elbow o_O all hooked back up and bled.
Had the same problem with a friend's build. We removed the trans, then had to wait a few days for the T/O bearing and pipe. Which we also did not know are separate parts. We didn't realize the rubber top/seal was missing until we had the new parts in our hands! So we installed the new T/O bearing and Pipe before we re-installed the trans and re-assembled the car!
The only way to get that rubber seal/piece is to buy a new pipe, which fortunately is not too expensive! Then swap the seal from the new pipe to the old one. Or find your original! I wish we had known, we would have just bought an F35 pipe!

Picked up my wheels today. A quick (7 hour) trip to Michigan got me a set of Bronze Aodhan AH06 wrapped in brand new Azenis 615k+. This is just a mock up but woooooah momma I’m happy with them.

Came to the garage this morning and noticed a small leak from under the engine. It seems to be oil coming from where the transmission mounts to the engine on the bottom. This has not been a problem for months while the engine has been sitting in the car, the only thing that has changed was a recently bled the clutch.

I’ve read a bit and it’s pointing to the rear main seal…what would cause it to randomly fail?

Any other recommendations?

is it engine oil or brake fluid? When bleeding the clutch some can leak down inside the trans behind the clutch. It takes a while to leak out. You can wash it out with the brake clean and see if that helps clear it out faster

It’s definitely oil. I bled the clutch Thursday and Friday evening I saw the brake fluid on the ground from when my seal was not installed correctly on the clutch pipe. I have not been home since Friday night. This morning there was oil under the car. Not a lot by any means, but I saw the leak underneath at the connection.

Okay. Mine dripped for a week after my clutch pipe didn’t seal and I fixed it. I was just hoping for your sake that’s what it was

Unfortunately not, I’ve had it running 2-3 times and have never had oil on the floor and no other leaks. Now that the clutch was bled there was an oil spot.

doesn’t make sense to me.

Prove it's engine oil. I believe there is a fluorescent dye you can put in the oil. Run the engine to mix and check the spots. I believe they have different colors so you can add a different color to your trans as well. They may even have one for brake fluid?
Engine oil is brand new and the liquid is tan that is leaking. The brake fluid and fluid leaking do not have the same “feel” between my fingers.
I looked all around trying to see if there were trails leading to the lowest point where it dripped and did not see any. My first thought was brake fluid picking up dirt. I understand proving it’s oil but I’m fairly certain. With the incredibly small amount it’s leaking I’m going to ride it out for now and see if it rectifies itself or gets worse. I am going to try to get inside of it with an inspection camera this week if there is an inspection port. I need to research that more.

Well, first drive was a success! I had no one to take a video, unfortunately, but here’s a pic at the end of my driveway haha. I will be keeping a close eye for leaks and get started on the alignment this week.

This morning I did get all wheels at least even in the front and back to the frame rail. Rear camber is incredibly close to 1.5° but not much was checked up front.

Not wanting to muddy the water buy I did have a leak from a poorly sealing TO bearing allowing transmission fluid to leak by. You will quickly notice a clutch slip if this is the case as it leaks directly onto the clutch.

I too experienced clutch fluid dripping out slowly about a week after bleeding, That bellhousing holds fluid pretty well and takes a while to let it all back out.

I also experienced an input shaft seal leak. Upon the first install of my F23, I cleaned and lubed the input shaft for the install of a new OEM slave cylinder with integral input shaft seal. I had a decent trans fluid leak, only while driving the car. If I parked it for a day, it wouldn't leak more, but driving it led to a fluid buildup in the bellhousing that would leak out and get on the exhaust and smoke in left turns. It would drip upon parking but the leak would slow and then stop. I pulled the trans and found a torn input shaft seal. I ordered a new slave cylinder and installed and removed and inspected and reinstalled and it's been great since then. I did have to replace the clutch disc, unfortunately.

Did you have any weight in the car when you aligned it? I only ask because adding 10% of the weight of the car with a driver can change things. Looking good!

Uh oh. No, I did not have any weight in the car when doing the alignment. I didn’t see a mention of it in the DF alignment threads, unless I missed it. Are the changes made with weight enough to be concerned? Handling / excessive tire wear issues?
If so, I will have to redo this and figure out how to add my body weight to the seat.
