I used two of these per side:

I have gotten some shiz done the past few days;
  • Tunnel cover and fire wall panels were fitted for alignment and then drilled for rivnuts
    • My rivnut tool did not come with a mandrel for M4 but one is arriving saturday
  • HX fan installed and wired
    • Diode will be here saturday
  • Rear parking brake kit came in
    • Caliper stripping, degreasing, and painting will commence this evening
  • 3d printed button panel was installed
    • Buttons arrive saturday
      • resistors will need to be sourced for cruise control
After the rear brakes are hooked up I will be ready to fill with brake fluid. I do have a brake bleeder vac on loan from a friend so I'm hoping this makes the job a bit easier.

Are there any known problematic area you have noticed while filling with fluid that can be checked prior to mitigate leakage and possible damage to paint?

Can you show a picture of your button panel

I got the file from here and had someone I know print it for me. His printer wasnt large enough so he split it into two pieces with a male and female end in the middle and I superglued it together.

I do have an extra one that was a test piece. It did not come out as good but maybe the imperfections can be filled with something and then painted?

If you or anyone (@comegetjoe, more free stuff!) is interested in it I can ship it to you for cost of shipping. If it is only a few bucks I won't even worry about it.

Red loctite or some other compound that seals threads (and withstands brake fluid) on the brass threaded fittings on both sides of the lines that go from the reservoir to the master cylinder.

For what it's worth, I feel like I've read as many stories about vacuum bleeders not working on Goblins as I have success stories using pressure bleeders. I kept sucking air into the system on the aforementioned reservoir-master lines, even though they held fluid just fine. With the pressure bleeder, I can do an entire brake system fluid flush in 10 minutes, plus the upstream side of the clutch hydraulics (bleeder to master). The downstream side (bleeder to slave) has to be done with pumping the pedal, but the pressure bleeder helps there as well.

I did use Teflon tape on these 4 fittings from reading another post but did not apply Loctite. I may take them back apart and apply some.

Tunnel cover and firewall have been attached with rivnuts and the buttons came in for the dash panel. I need to get resistors for the cruise but have everything else hooked up. The nest of wires behind the dash is overwhelming…lots of tidying up to do. The diode for the HX fan needs installed as well. I have a bunch of leftover diodes, if you need one I can mail it to you.

Wires are cleaned up and loom installed. The cruise control buttons are just wired for the button lights to come on. I will figure the cruise function out later, need to do some more research.

Wheel adapters were ordered Wednesday, I found a set of wheels on Facebook with the exact specs and exact tires (falken azenis RT615K+) a lot cheaper than a brand new set. Should be going to pick them up next weekend in Michigan.

What is the inside diameter of the rear solstice rotor? I’m ordering centering rings for new wheels and want to order a replacement or just replace the 3d printed ones as well.
65.1 (wheel hub) to ? (Rear rotor)

Does this nipple in the top of the transmission look complete/correct? Trying to bleed the clutch and it is leaking around the aluminum elbow that connects to the transmission.

Looks like the o-ring is in the top groove - good. Is there anything inside the elbow, like another o-ring? Is the spring clip installed correctly into the elbow slot before trying to press the elbow onto the nipple? A couple photos of the elbow may help.

Ahh that link helped tremendously. I don’t have the seal for the top of the nipple sticking out of the transmission.

I already cleaned up and went in for the night. I’ll look inside of the elbow tomorrow morning. I don’t think I’ve ever taken that thing off until today when I couldn’t get the bleeder unscrewed. It’s probably in the elbow or on the garage floor somewhere.

thank you!
